Project deliverables:

Over 5 hours’ worth of footage was digitised
The video had been digitised and redistributed to the Black cultural Archives, Lambeth Archives and the Internet Archive.
Engagement of local residents
We conducted a series of workshops during the summer and autumn of 2008. In these workshops, we viewed Sam’s footage, discussed and researched its origins, developed ideas and themes for creative projects, and shared skills in video production and web technologies.
Gathering Oral histories
Volunteers of various ages worked on different parts of the project. They interviewed local activists, the police, people who knew Sam, and church leaders. These interviews provided background information for many of the scenes in Sam’s original footage and also allowed the volunteers to explore their own areas of interest.
Collaborative website
A website that provided a collaborative space to post text, videos, and images, serving as an archive for materials, thoughts, and processes throughout the project’s lifespan.
